What is the dress code?

Answer

Cocktail attire is requested! We suggest that men wear a suit or dress shirt with tie and women wear a midi, knee-length, or full-length dress or pantsuit. Ladies may want to avoid pointy heels, as cocktail hour is planned to be outdoors on grass. We can't wait to dress up with our favorite people!

What should I do between the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Unfortunately, no guests are permitted at Shining Tides until our reception begins at 4:30pm. We suggest that you find a fun bar or pub (happy to provide suggestions or see our "Things to Do"), or rest up at your hotel/airbnb before a long, fun night of celebrating!

Can I bring a flask?

Answer

No. Don't ruin it for everyone else - if our caterer sees anyone with outside alcohol, all alcohol services end immediately. That would be sad. :(

Will the reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

We live in New England - if you don't like the the weather, wait a minute! We're hoping for an outdoor cocktail hour, and a dinner/dancing under the beautiful Shining Tides awning (open on the sides). Given that it'll be October, the space will likely be enclosed and we will have industrial heaters at the ready. If you get chilly, pack accordingly!

Is any transportation provided? Will there be parking at both the ceremony and reception?

Answer

We are not providing any transportation, so please be sure to assign designated drivers prior to the event (ubers/lyft can be limited in the region). We want our loved ones to be safe, so please party responsibly. Parking is available onsite at both the ceremony and reception locations.

Will there be meal options for guests with dietary restrictions or allergies?

Answer

Yes! Please inform us of any allergies or dietary restrictions well in advance via email or phone so we can communicate with the caterer.
