Will and I first met at an NAACP Youth Council Meeting at Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn, NY. A friend brought him to one of the meetings to "check out" the girls. I was the treasurer of the Youth Chapter and as a part of my duties, had to collect contact information from all new members including visitors. At the end of the meeting, Will came up to me to give me his name and number for the information on the upcoming meetings. He definitely had my attention at "Hello", but his infectious smile and deep dimples didn't hurt either!
I first laid eyes on this beautiful young lady at a NAACP Bklyn Youth Council mtg that I only attended to look for fresh new girls. I was in for a surprise because not only did I find a woman I found the woman I would spend the rest of my life with. With a extensive vocabulary and natural sex appeal I was immediately intrigued by Margaret to the point where I had to smell her on the escalator to see if she was even real! The best thing I ever did was going to look for a girl which led to me hitting the jackpot and found a naturally beautiful & intelligent woman. Moral of the story is think big and never short change yourself; your future could be waiting for you right around the corner!
When Will and I picked the original date, earlier this year, we would have never in a million years, thought to build a safety plan around a global pandemic. Humidity, check. Rain, check. Snow, check. We pretty much thought we left no stone unturned, except for one......COVID-19. Immediately, we rescheduled our nuptials for later in the year, and rejoiced at the thought of a summer wedding. COVID also rescheduled its plans and this time, harder and angrier. We have always said and still believe, "We are All in this Together". And we are. Sadly, we are rescheduling again. With a little patience and continued prayer, we will say our vows in 2021, and hope you all will be there to witness our love. Stay safe and until we meet again....
