Swedish Currency

Please note that Sweden uses a different currency called the Swedish Krona (SEK). Roughly 10 SEK equals 1 USD, so if a price seems shockingly high, it’s probably listed in SEK, not dollars! Also, Sweden is a mostly cashless society—credit and debit cards are widely accepted, and we don’t recommend exchanging cash.

Sweden's Public Transportation

We highly recommend taking advantage of Sweden’s world-class public transportation system during your visit. It’s clean, safe, reliable, and budget-friendly—making it one of the best ways to get around. Sweden offers a variety of transit options including boats, subways, and buses, many of which run all night. Some subway stations are even famous for their elaborate underground art. We’ve linked the official public transportation website below, and Google Maps is a great tool for planning routes. Do not use Apple Maps, as it can be inaccurate for transit directions.
