We first crossed paths at Krispy Fried Chicken on 23rd and Franklin in October 2014, starting as new colleagues. Over the next six years, what began as a simple working relationship blossomed into a deep and meaningful friendship. In 2020, as I (Laura) embarked on a new chapter by buying my first house, I couldn’t imagine anyone better to help me move than Will. After we finished the move, my best friend called and, with a playful hint of curiosity, asked if I had told him yet! She just happened to be on Bluetooth! With a heart full of hope and a smile on my face, I told Will “I’ve got the house, I’ve got the car, now all that’s missing is the boy.”
The year was... a long time ago...I met a young, rough around the edges albeit beautiful woman named Laura via work. I could not stand her! We butted heads incessantly, fought, disagreed, the whole nine yards. Fast forward about a year and find our proximity to each other had shrunk quite a bit and I got to know her more and grew to appreciate her indomitable strength and unyielding commitment to her pursuits. Over the next 3 years we became good friends in addition to being colleagues. Feelings began swelling up like a tsunami gaining traction under the ocean's surface all it would take was a little liquid courage for it to hit landfall. It was an absolute disaster. Bless her heart she was very kind to me after my flop of attempt to woo her. Enter the awkward stage of our story and the entropy that tends to follow a failed attempt at one's heart. Life brings people together just pull apart, but sometimes, if you're lucky, life will suddenly and unexpectedly slam your worlds back into each other. In our case it was her finding an excuse to invite me to Waco that was also a good enough reason for me to go see a woman whom I cared for deeply and did not believe there was any reciprocity. Moving! Yep, she needed help moving and dropped an absolute bomb on me that she was smitten with me! The rest is, as they say, history.
