We met back in high school in JROTC, just two teenagers in uniform who had no idea we were about to start forever. It all started when I asked him to go to courtwarming “just as friends” (famous last words). Not long after, he asked me to be his girlfriend, and we’ve been inseparable ever since...well, mostly. He always says his first impression of me was the week before we started dating, when I asked for a ride home, hijacked his music, rolled the windows down, and sang at the top of my lungs like I was performing at a sold-out concert. Apparently, that was the moment he knew what he was getting himself into Fast forward to the summer of 2023, he left for boot camp, and we started long distance. Since then, I’ve flown across two countries and three states just to see him, proving that love (and airline miles) truly knows no limits. He proposed right after graduating boot camp, and soon after, I started nursing school. Between uniforms, late-night FaceTimes, and countdowns to visits, we’ve waited a long time for this moment. On May 22, 2026, we finally get to end long distance for good and start our next chapter together, side by side, no more goodbyes (until my first deployment of course).
