Question

What should I know about Fijian etiquette?

Answer

Fiji is a very friendly country, filled with people who are genuinely happy to meet you. I've put together a few tips to help you acclimate easily into the culture: -Fiji is a modest country, so dress conservatively. As I read, "If you want to run around naked, go to Tahiti where the French think it's cool. Fijian's do not". Ladies, this means no bare shoulders or shorts when visiting a local village. At the resort you'll be fine, but may garner some extra attention in town. -Speaking loudly or raising your voice is interpreted as a sign of anger, so try to always speak softly. Pointing is considered rude, so if you need to gesture, do so with an open hand. -The head is considered sacred in Fiji, so wearing hats while visiting a local village is disrespectful. Remove your sunglasses as well and you'll show honor to their traditions. -As with all international travel, be observant and follow your host's lead. Be nice. Be patient. Be BULA... -and drink the kava!!

Question

How do I get to Fiji?

Answer

Flying into Nadi International Airport will be easiest for this trip. Then it's about a bit over an hour's transfer to the resort!

Answer

Island chic. Come ready to laugh, make merry, and have a great time! We're going to look fabulous, of course ;)

Question

Are children welcome?

Answer

Absolutely! The resort is famous for it's family friendly nature, and kids will enjoy a fantastic kids club, nanny service, and anything else they might want - they even eat free at the resort!

Question

What language do they speak in Fiji?

Answer

Fiji has 3 national languages; English, Fijian, and Hindi, so you can expect to communicate fairly easily most places on the island. At the resort you'll hear a boisterous Fijian "BULA" (hello) and "VINAKA" (thank you) from everyone you meet. Give it a try!
