If you have a little extra time around the wedding, Estes Park is just a scenic short drive from Loveland—and it's a gem. Whether you’d love to rent a bike, try fly-fishing, or hike up a small peak for panoramic valley views, there’s something for every mood. Downtown offers miniature golf, giant slides, go–carts—or simply soak up the charm of local shops and galleries. Enjoy browsing at outdoor art studios, catching wildlife, or diving into seasonal events and live music festivities. Rocky Mountain National Park is just up the road and absolutely worth the visit. The park is known for its sweeping mountain vistas, crystal-clear alpine lakes, and abundant wildlife—elk, moose, and marmots are common sights. For an easy outing, stroll around Bear Lake, one of the park’s most iconic spots. If you’d like a little more adventure, try the Alberta Falls trail, a short and scenic hike to a waterfall. For those who prefer to take it all in from the car, Trail Ridge Road (open seasonally) offers one of the most stunning drives in the country, climbing above 12,000 feet for panoramic views of the Rockies. 💡 Note: The park often requires timed-entry reservations in addition to a park pass from late May through mid-October. You should be okay in April, but if you plan to visit, be sure to check the National Park Service website ahead of time to secure a spot.
Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch offers "in-house" activities that will be available to our guests throughout the weekend. Guests can make use of the game courts and game room with billiards, ping pong, and foosball. The ranch also has over 3,000 acres of trails to explore—trail maps are available at the front desk. For those interested in something extra, horseback riding and fishing can be arranged in advance for an additional fee. Please reach out to the Ranch in advance if you are interested in booking riding.
