Travel + Things To Do

For those who are travelling into Adelaide from interstate or overseas, here are some of our recommendations for things to do, places to visit and restaurants to try. We recommend hiring a car so you can drive around to different places as public transport is limited. The wedding venue is a 20-minute drive from Adelaide city centre.

What to do - Wineries

Adelaide is famous for incredible wineries, most famous being the Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale. A great day trip would be to drive to a few, have some wine tasting and lunch. Below are some recommendations. Barossa Valley: Henschke, Rockford Wines, Seppeltsfield, St Hugo McLaren Vale: d’Arenberg / The Cube, Bekkers Wine, Maxwell Wines, Down The Rabbit Hole, Wirra Wirra

What to do - Hikes & walks

Mount Lofty: One of our favourites. A 8km loop with a decent elevation near the end, excellent panoramic views at the top, and you may see some kangaroos along the way. Morialta Conservation Park: Offers a range of trails, from short, easy family walks to challenging, multi-hour hikes. The iconic Three Falls Grand Hike is 7.3 km, while longer routes like the Morialta Loop stretch up to 14.5 km. Hallet Cove Boardwalk: A beautiful 7.2km coastal clifftop boardwalk. It winds through rugged terrain, offering panoramic views of Gulf St Vincent. It is famous for its unique geological formations, suspension bridges, and blend of boardwalks and stairs. River Torrens: An easy river walk in central Adelaide, great for running with free parking near Uni Loop. Cleland Wildlife Park: An open-range wildlife reserve that's a 20-minute drive from the city centre, you get to pat and feed native Australian animals like kangaroos, wallabies, and koalas.

What to do - Our favourite beaches

Port Willunga Beach: Golden cliffs, white sand, old jetty pylons, sunsets. One of South Australia's most photographed beaches. Second Valley: Calm cove, rock pools, snorkelling, photogenic cliffs. Port Noarlunga Beach: Easy day trip, kayaking, snorkelling, reef and great jetty. Moana and Maslin Beach: Red cliffs, long open sand, less crowded. Port Elliot, Victor Harbor and Goolwa: Family-friendly, long coastline, boogie boards, amazing bakery (Port Elliot Bakery), excellent walks and scenery at Rosetta Head.
