How They Met

Answer

They both joined a Dungeons and Dragons (DnD) campaign run by Catherine's friend Marco and became friends. They quickly found they had many similar interests and values.

First Date

Will asked Catherine if she wanted to hang out and get boba, and they sat and talked for 4 hours. They discussed many things, from their hobbies to how many kids they want. He then asked her out on a proper dinner date (and axe throwing), and as they say, the rest is history. :)

The Proposal

Answer

Catherine and Will did something a bit non-traditional in that they both proposed! Will proposed to Catherine first in the Seattle Ferris wheel on his birthday in November 2023 (the anniversary of a very romantic day in 2022). Catherine was totally on to him. :) Catherine then proposed a few weeks later at a gathering of their friends. He was completely surprised.

Shared Hobbies

Answer

Catherine and Will share a love of reading, house plants, and animals. They recently got a dog (Taika) and are enjoying working as a team to be good pet owners. They also enjoy doing nerdy things together, such as board games, DnD, and the Ren Faire; listening to rock music (although sometimes they disagree over subgenres); and traveling together. Will likes to join Catherine on hiking and camping expeditions, and Catherine enjoys joining Will for astrophotography and star gazing through his telescope.
