To make a somewhat lengthy yet admittedly insanely romantic story short, we met at a music festival. Twice. The first time we met, mutual friends had introduced us, and I was completely clueless to Carly's flirtatious nature even though she insists it was "obvious". We had a great time all weekend dancing and singing, but I think I had decided in my head that I was swearing off relationships and would just be "Married to Medicine" for the next 4 years, and Carly was going into her Junior year of college studying art at one of the top party schools in the nation. "Not a great combo", I thought, and we left it at that. (Disclaimer: I did give her my number but never heard anything from her). Flash forward a few months later and the same mutual friends invited me to New Orleans to attend yet another music festival. Turns out, Carly was going, too (thanks Dane and Izzy!) and we spent the entire weekend together, further exploring "what could have been" from a few short months before. The combination of Carly screaming "Mr. Brightside" at a Killers concert on my shoulders and a breakfast date in the French Quarter was enough for both of us to realize that we needed to give this thing a real shot (I mean, destiny, right?!). 2 1/2 years of long distance later Carly moved from Dallas, TX to Springfield, IL! Y'all know the rest... we're getting married!!!!
