What’s the dress code?

Answer

We’re hosting an Autumn Semi-Formal Garden Party — think bold fall colors and layers to stay comfortable in the sun, a crisp evening breeze, and the famously windy Haskins. For Ladies: Elegant but not overly formal outfits, such as a cocktail dress, midi dress, dressy jumpsuit, or a sophisticated skirt-and-blouse combination. For Gentlemen: A well-fitted suit with a dress shirt, or a blazer with dress pants and dress shoes. The ceremony and reception will be on a grassy lawn, so please choose footwear accordingly. Please, no jeans or tennis shoes. Visit the Guest Attire tab for some ideas!

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Both the ceremony and reception will be outdoors. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we have backup plans in place.

What should guests expect (formal dinner, casual party, dancing all night)?

Answer

Guests should expect a backyard celebration with a food truck, drinks, and a DJ keeping the vibes alive.

Is the wedding unplugged (no phones during the ceremony)?

Answer

Yes! We kindly ask that phones and cameras be put away during the ceremony. Our officiant will give everyone a chance to take a quick photo before we begin, but after that, please silence and tuck your phones away. We’d love for you to be fully present with us as we say ‘I do’ — and don’t worry, our photographer will capture it all!

What time will your wedding reception end?

The celebration will wrap up around 10:00 PM to respect neighborhood noise restrictions.

Is there parking available?

Answer

Yes! There’s a grass and gravel lot just a few houses down from the Carter Residence. If you’re driving, please park there and take a short walk over to the house.

Is there transportation between the hotel and venue?

Am I allowed to bring a plus-one?

Answer

Due to the limited space, we are only able to accommodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitation. If you received a plus one they will appear under your name when you RSVP. Thank you for understanding!

Am I allowed to bring my children?

Answer

We love your little ones, but we’ve decided to make our wedding and reception an adults-only event, with the exception of children in the wedding party. We hope you’ll take the evening as a chance for a special date night!

What type of food will be served during cocktail hour and reception?

Answer

During cocktail hour, a charcuterie and grazing table will be available for all guests. The reception will be served by table at the food truck. Please send your order preferences with your RSVP to help ensure a smooth and speedy service.

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Of course. If you have a food allergy or dietary restriction, please let us know when you RSVP and we will make sure there is an option for you.
