The place where it all started. Will and Baylee first met here while Will was behind the bar. Uptown Garage is primarily known for one thing, that is, craft beer selection. This drafthouse hosts 36 Iowa exclusive draft beer lines, with a fair balance in each beer style category. Its cozy and nostalgic, and highly recommended.
We are repeat offenders to this drive-thru only coffee shop. Grab a dressed-up latte or straight black americano - both of which are glorious.
With a semi-outdoor mall vibe, this area has shops and restaraunts that have a more glamorous appeal. Some of our favorite eats can be found here, try Magee's or 30Hop! Don't forget to save your appetite of course.
If you’re in town Saturday morning before our celebration, we highly recommend checking out the Downtown Des Moines Farmers’ Market! It’s one of our favorite local spots filled with fresh produce, local vendors, live music, and great coffee and breakfast options.
Will and I love Northern Vessel Coffee and we highly recommend stopping by for a drink. Whether you’re grabbing a morning latte before the festivities or winding down after the weekend, Northern Vessel is a must-try!
Located just south of the Des Moines river. The Angry Goldfish is a top-tier pub that serves pub food, beer and great cocktails, as well as their famous appetizer: Goldfish crackers. The AG is the location of Will and Baylee's first date, and is always their first stop on anniversaries!
Dubbed as "Will's favorite" bar. Ernie's is a grungy Des Moines dive that features delicious Hamm's and stellar vibes. If the infamous Hamm and Eggs (pickled egg in a beer) doesn't appease your appetite, Ernie's is also known for their famous, permanent food truck sitting in their patio. A place so cool, they don't even need a website.
You can't experience East Village without stopping here. This tiki bar lies directly next to Ernie's. Here, Des Moines offers a slice of paradise with their exotic cocktail menu. Bellhop will cut, chop and assemble dreamy drinks right infront of your eyes! Bonus points for being the most aromatic bar in the area.
Will and I have recently spent a lot of time here enjoying great beer, delicious food, and playing way too many board games with friends. It’s quickly become one of our favorite hangout spots! If you’re looking for a fun place to grab a drink, enjoy a meal, or just unwind with good company, SingleSpeed Brewery is a great stop during your time in town.
