How We Met

10-10-2022

God has a funny way of writing love stories—usually the kind you don’t see coming. We met at a laundromat in Jacksonville while serving the unhoused. We showed up thinking we were just there to help others. Turns out, God was about to change our lives too. The moment William saw me walk in, he knew. No, really—he knew. On the way home, he leaned over to the guys in the van and said, “I’m going to marry her.” Naturally, they laughed it off. But then they saw us interact… and let’s just say, no one was laughing anymore. We spent a few months pretending we were just friends (we were fooling no one). There were way too many deep conversations, lingering glances, and “casual” moments of showing up to deliver Culver’s. We were trying so hard to hide what we were feeling—but we both knew exactly what was happening. God was doing something. Something slow, intentional, and completely beautiful. We weren’t just falling in love—we were being led to each other. Now, we’re getting married—still praying, still laughing, and still in awe of how God took a laundromat, some clean clothes, and a bold little van prophecy… and turned it into the start of forever. And yes—he still loves his back scratches. And yes—she still sings in the car like she’s the surprise guest at a Taylor Swift concert. We wouldn’t have it any other way.
