Our lovely guests, at this time we have chosen to cancel the After Party we initially planned due to COVID. The venue we planned on joining at cannot accommodate the number of people we would have with the indoor gathering restrictions. Our ceremony and reception will be entirely outdoors. If you are uncomfortable gathering in large groups at this time, we do understand, and appreciate you making the decision to attend or not based on your own comfort and safety precautions. We know these decisions are not made lightly, and as a couple, we agree your health comes first. We look forward to celebrating with you all at our wedding, and for many years to follow. Thank you!
It's true! Online dating works, for some of us that is. Will and Rachelle matched on the dating app "Bumble" in October of 2018. Within a couple weeks, we had talked enough, a true in-person "date" was warranted. Appetizers and drinks at Buffalo Wild Wings began what we call our love story. Our first true date was a week later at a Portland Trail Blazers game - this is where he asked Rachelle to be his girlfriend.
Unknown to Rachelle, Will had an entire day planned for the two of them. The real plans were ruined by COVID-19, but it didn't hinder him from making the day special. It began with brunch at Besaw's in Portland, followed by some classic bowling fun at Big Al's in Beaverton and a donut snack from Blue Star. The proposal happened at La Provence in their upstairs private dining area with a custom special menu. Dessert: Will you marry me? Will down on one knee and tears down both faces, a "YES!" squeaked out of Rachelle. Rachelle thought the evening was ending with a family dinner as we were picking up desserts from La Provence, instead a surprise engagement party was waiting for them both at her parents house. Surrounded by our family and friends (some missing due to health precautions) we celebrated this new chapter with lots of love around us. Rachelle is forever thankful and proud that Will pulled this off and kept a secret for so long.
