Our Story

As both of our hopes were dwindling away with finding anything substantial on the internet, we decided to meet up for a drink on a chilly November Sunday evening in New York. The American Music Awards were on every TV with Pitbull, Mr. 305, hosting the ceremony. That night was spent cracking each other up at the bar as we both learned that maybe everyone from the internet wasn't a bust. The next couple of months were tough on Jenny with the loss of her father, but we decided to finally go back out on a date and continue getting to know each other more. After two years of dating, we decided to take our adventure one step further and moved in together in Brooklyn, NY. We continued exploring the city, meeting new friends along the way, and growing our lives together through the ups and downs. Three years later on a whim, Parker found a job posting in Atlanta and asked Jenny if he should apply. Since Parker was wanting to be closer to friends and family in the south, we both agreed to take a chance to see what could possibly happen...and well a couple of months later, we moved and are now living in Atlanta, GA. Then a once in a lifetime pandemic hit... As the year went on being stuck in an apartment together, we became closer, and on yet another whim, Parker pitched the idea of buying a house instead of having a pandemic wedding. Lo and behold, we stumbled upon our dream house and went on yet another adventure becoming homeowners. Now about 6 years after that first date, we both knew what was next...

The Proposal

After getting the necessary approvals from both of the mothers, the plan was in order--there was an upcoming family trip to Asheville where it could happen and everyone would be there to celebrate. But where? But how? But how to hide the ring in slim fitting pants? All these questions were to be answered by, you guessed it...winging it. Both families had never met before this trip. Luckily Parker's parents' anniversary landed on the same weekend, so the reasoning of them wanting to come and visit the Biltmore again for their anniversary made sense to Jenny. The Biltmore...perfect. That's romantic right? Let's do a tour there one day. The next day, Parker was trying to look nice for the moment, and Jenny began that morning giving him a hard time about his outfit choices. "Pants AND a collared shirt?! It's hot outside!" That was the least of his worries...Parker didn't know how to hide the ring in slim fitting pants. Panic ensues. "Wait...a light jacket, that's it, hide the ring in there." He steps out the room with the jacket in hand, "You ready to head out?" "A jacket too?! Why are you bringing a jacket?!" Thinking quick on his toes. "Um...it might rain." "Oh ok! Let me grab my jacket too." Phew. She bought it. It ended up being hotter than hell and more humid than the deep Vietnam jungle. We are all sweating, walking everywhere, chugging water out of survival, and Jenny was not having it. Parker kept wanting to find a scenic spot to propose, but after walking over a mile on a trail--no such luck. We did the indoor portion of the tour, and after we completed that, Parker pitches the idea to get a few more pictures before we leave. Jenny being a trooper even though she was tired & annoyed--begrudgingly obliges. As we get to a scenic spot overlooking the mansion, Parker gets down on one knee and asks the question, "Will you marry me?" At that moment, everything made sense to Jenny. All annoyances were gone and everything was worth it. WE'RE GETTING MARRIED!
