Amber’s POV: Lauren and I met at Dorney Park, our local amusement park, where we both worked. It was my first year, and we were attending training for Haunt actors. We were cast as actors whose job was to scare people in an attraction called Tourist Trap. I didn’t know many people there—just my friend Matt, whom I recognized from school—so I sat with him and we started chatting. Suddenly, this brunette walked up, sat down on the other side of Matt, and immediately interrupted our conversation. She began bragging about winning Creature of the Year and how talented she was. I instantly rolled my eyes, thinking she was kind of a jerk. Not long after, we found out we weren’t just assigned to the same attraction—we were assigned to the same room, playing the same role. That meant we were stuck working in very close quarters every weekend night. The rest, as they say, is history. Lauren’s POV: It was my third season working Haunt, and on training night I noticed a new girl talking with my friend Matt. She was gorgeous, and I really wanted to impress her. So naturally, I sat down with them and started talking about how great I was. During training, I made sure to stay close to her and keep the conversation going. Apparently, it worked—because the rest is history.

As Amber and I grew closer, it was only a matter of time before she asked me on a date. I’ll never forget her picking me up in her Cadillac, opening the door for me, and treating me like a real princess. We went shopping, and she bought me a really beautiful dress—which she then told me I would be wearing because she was taking me to a fancy restaurant. Amber had her dress and everything else secretly ready in the back seat of her car. We both got changed, and she drove us to the restaurant, Bolete, in Allentown. It was so elegant, with dim candlelight throughout the restaurant. The menu was unique and quite impressive. We ordered appetizers and the chef’s special of the night—sea bass! As the night went on and we talked, we couldn’t help but smile and feel like we had known each other for years. We had so much in common, and being around each other just felt natural. It wasn’t long before Amber asked me to be her girlfriend—but, being her cute self, she spilled water all over me as she leaned in to ask. Of course, we laughed and couldn’t believe that had happened! As we all know, the answer was yes, and now we’re about to say “yes” to forever!

Lauren and I spent our engagement trip in the beautiful state of Michigan celebrating eight years since I asked her to be my girlfriend, so we wanted to do something truly special. Lauren planned a fun day at their local zoo, Potter Park Zoo, and casually mentioned that we’d be getting to meet my favorite animal in the world—a snow leopard! I was beyond excited and honestly couldn’t believe an opportunity like that even existed. When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the staff and had time to walk around before our encounter began. The zoo was absolutely beautiful and so well cared for, especially for a local zoo tucked into the small town of Lansing. Eventually, we made our way to the snow leopard enclosure, where Taza was lounging on his hammock. He was adorable, and I could hardly contain my excitement. Soon, the zookeeper joined us and the meet-and-greet began. Lauren and I learned all about Taza’s history, daily routine, diet, and personality. We even got to bottle-feed him! I was beaming with happiness—being inches away from my favorite animal, let alone feeding him, felt completely surreal. The encounter flew by, and our guide started taking what I thought were photos. In reality, she was secretly recording a video. Before I could process what was happening, Lauren got down on one knee and proposed. Everything happened so fast, and I was completely overwhelmed with emotion. To say it was the happiest day of my life would be an understatement. Lauren planned the most magical and unforgettable proposal—one that will stay with us forever.
