Our ceremony venue is quite small and can only hold 70 people. While we love all your kids, there are a lot of them and if we included kids in the ceremony there are many other loved ones that would get left out. Kids are welcome at the ceremony in hopes that if you are not able to find child care to join us for the ceremony you can all still join us and celebrate for the reception. Thank you for your respect and understanding with this!
If you search "Lady Slipper Lodge" on your GPS it will give you directions directly to the lodge. Once you are in the park, you will have to stop at the ranger station to get a pass for the day. This is hard to miss. On your way to the lodge you will get to a point that states "fee area" with a building on the right hand side. Stop here and let them know you are there for the Willette/Klofstad wedding and they will give you a day pass.
There is a small parking lot right next to the lodge with an additional one a little further down the road at "Lakeview Shelter." Due to the limited parking we ask that you car pool when possible. If there is no parking left available at Lady Slipper you can check Lakeview Shelter and it is a short walk either up the road or cutting through a trail to our shelter.
Yes however, we would recommend using the bathroom prior to arriving. There is a vault toilet right next to the parking lot. This is essentially a large outhouse meaning there is no running water. There is a bathroom with running water just down the road at the Lakeview Shelter if needed and you do not want to use the vault toilet.
We have elected to do a true first look meaning Mike does not want to see me prior to walking down the isle. Because of this we will need some time after the ceremony to do pictures. We understand this can be an inconvenience for guests however, you are in a beautiful state park with lots to explore! We recommend taking some time to walk around and adventure. If this is not your style, you can head back to Silver Bay and hang out at the lounge or head to where you are staying and change into something a little more comfortable for the reception if you desire. If you are wanting to head a little further south Two Harbors has lots of shops you can check out with the best coffee shop on the North Shore (White Pine Market). If you are not staying overnight and need somewhere to change or want to hang out that isn't a bar please let us know and we can help you out!
