Short answer: life happened fam😮💨😅 (w/ a beautiful surprise in between) Over the past few months we experienced a few unexpected health issues that reminded us how important it is to slow down and take care of ourselves first. At the same time, we realized that trying to rush a big wedding while life (and our bank accounts🤪) were feeling a little chaotic wasn’t the best way for us to start this next chapter. But something really super special also happened along the way. Earlier this year, some barriers that had previously been in the way of us getting married were lifted. Because of that & because the timing felt right in a way we couldn’t ignore we chose to elope on January 17, 2026. It gave us the opportunity to honor my father and share a deeply personal moment that meant a lot to both of us. It was simple, emotional, and honestly perfect for that moment in our lives. (Don't worry it was recorded! Check out the Gallery page for the ceremony video💖) That said, celebrating with the people we love is still incredibly important to us. So instead of canceling the celebration altogether, we decided to give ourselves more time & aim for the big wedding celebration take place October 16, 2027. This extra time allows us to focus on health, restructure a few things financially, and continue building the life we're creating together so that when we do celebrate, we can actually be present and enjoy it with all of you. Thank you for your patience, understanding, & continued love as we navigate this little plot twist in our story. We truly can't wait to celebrate with you! With love, Christina & De'jon
Gather round folks, for an epic tale of how our love grew into something wild and wonderful. Our story begins in the middle of the pandemic, during a season when I (Christina) was exhausted, overstretched, and definitely not looking for anyone new to matter. But God & the universe had other plans. Through people who no longer matter and timing I did not ask for, De’jon appeared silly, kind-hearted, and a little chaotic. He became the character that strolled into my story long before I realized just how important he’d be to the plot. Years passed, life shifted, and after I ventured out on my own for the first time, he and I found our paths crossing more intentionally. What had always been easy friendship slowly deepened. Long conversations, small moments, and the line between friendship blurred into something deeper. Crossing that line created a spark neither of us expected, and we chose to let that light guide us. That was the true beginning of us. Of course, every good epic comes with dramatic side quests. People had opinions. Assumptions were made. Rumors sprouted like Florida weeds. Suddenly, we found ourselves navigating the whispers, the judgments, & the versions of our story others tried to write. But through all the noise, we kept choosing each other anyway. He said “I love you” first, boldly and early, the way heroes in epics leap before they look. I took a little longer to speak it out loud, but the truth was already living in the way we were building our life, piece by piece. That’s also around the time I created WillCo. A name woven from Williams and Coleman, but more importantly, a symbol of the home we’re meant to craft; our shared name, our shared direction, our shared life. By last Christmas, everything began settling into place. Life felt warmer, steadier, like a home being built one loving moment at a time. We started dreaming loudly: building a homestead together, imagining growing our family, a wedding venue, a life crafted with our own hands. And when De’jon proposed at our Memorial Day cookout, surrounded by so many people who love us, it felt like the moment our story shifted from dreaming to doing. De’jon is loyal, protective, and rooted in family; my strong and caring constant. I am loving, creative, and determined; the heart and momentum of our plans. Together, we’re building not just a home, but a legacy and I can’t wait to celebrate the beginning of our next chapter with you on our wedding day.
