Misty had recently moved back to the Bay Area and decided to try out online dating. Will was also recently back on the apps. Bumble is where the stars aligned. They both swiped right on one another. Misty's thoughtful opening line asked Will about his pic from Japan. They then got to chatting about beer, travel, and places to eat, which brought them to the spot of their first date: a craft beer bar called Liquid Gold in San Francisco, CA. After a few drinks, Will took Misty down the street to try their luck at spinning The Wheel for a prize at Soda Popinski's. Misty impressed Will with her spinning luck and Will claims Misty cried at some point (about something related to dating and Misty still says this is not true). Either way, they both were smitten and one date turned into another, and then another!

On a Sunday after hosting a pre-Big Game party, Misty and Will headed into San Francisco to meet his buddy Charlie and his girlfriend Monica for lunch and mani/pedis. After the lunch and nails sessions, they all decided to grab a drink before going off to dinner plans. So the crew headed to, you guessed it, Liquid Gold. So they go up and order drinks at the bar. Misty is rambling on about who knows what, while Will, Charlie, and Monica are drinking quickly. As the trio starts to order their second drink, Misty realized "HEY, the bartender gave me the wrong glassware for my beer!" She points to the screen and says "Wow, they gave me a pint glass for a 9oz sour pour? wtf? I will never finish this" because she is slow drinker and obviously very into beer glassware. Will tells her to just keep drinking. So she does. Slowly, but surely, something starts to appear etched on the pint glass. Eventually, revealed on the pint glass was "12.9.16 ~ First Date." Then, after a bit more drinking, "11.18.18 ~ Misty..." become clear! As Misty finished, "Will you marry me?" revealed itself on the bottom of the pint glass and Misty turned to find Will on one knee. Misty said yes, of course!
