May 2018, Will was invited by his hometown friend Jordan to go wine tasting in Old Sacramento with his girlfriend Kaitlin and her roommate Madeleine. Kaitlin had just moved from North Carolina and had only been living with Madeleine for 6 weeks before Jordan had the idea to invite Will for a night out. Will showed up alone to meet the group and Madeleine was still getting ready. They hit it off instantly and quickly discovered how much they have in common. The group headed to the wine event and had a great time. Jealousy and curiosity struck Madeleine after Will drew a small crowd by eating a head of raw cauliflower from the charcuterie table without apology. Towards the end of the night Will noticed there was a VIP section where the good wine was served, blocked off by red velvet ropes and an attendant. Not knowing Madeleine was a wine connoisseur, Will wanted to sneak Madeleine into the section. They didn't have the wristbands or permission from the host but the usher let them through because Will introduced Madeleine as his new fiancé. Since that day, we've had so many great times together - gone on trips, moved in with each other, and now we're getting married!
