There was an end of season party for our crew at The North Face Breckenridge. My coworker Eric brought his roommate, Will, along for the fun. I brought my dog, Nola Xen, as the shindig was at Carter Park where she could play in the dog park. Will immediately bonded with Nola, lending to good conversations over the course of the night. We quickly became friends, and the relationship blossomed from there with our common love of mountains, music, and much more.
Within days of Hurricane Michael, we flew to Panama City Beach, FL to help the Paprocki family and others recover. Joan received a call regarding a couple abandoned dogs that needed help; one went to a friend and the other she brought home. Long story short, we fell in love with the 4-month old puppy and ended up driving home with her. Her name is Tiger Lily.
It was nearly 100 degrees at the Arise Music Festival in Loveland; the squad was hanging at camp, just trying not to die of heat stroke. Despite exhaustion and intense conditions, we were with amazing friends and everyone was excited to see CloZee headline that night. It would be our 8th time seeing her perform together, but the first time at a large festival. Will asked me to help him refill some ice water at the car. He snuck the small box out of his bag while I was distracted, dropping to his knee with the ring when I turned around. It was unexpected and perfect!
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic , we were still able to hold a small ceremony to exchange our vows. However, we didn't get to celebrate with nearly enough of our family and friends!
