We met at a friend's wedding, but didn't get to talk much. After the wedding, without knowing it, both of us were praying that God would give us wisdom on a possible relationship. After 2 weeks of praying, Will reached out and asked Julia out on double date. We went on three dates before making the relationship official, and the rest is history.

On December 7, 2019, we decided to drive through the lights in Lindenwood Park in Fargo. Julia wanted to stop and take a picture, but Will and Jessica (Julia's twin) encouraged her to wait till the end of the light show to take a picture. At the end, we took a picture by a lighted sign. Then, as we were walking back to the car, Will asked if Julia wanted to go check out a small Christmas tree. As they got closer to the tree, we could see the tree was decorated with pictures of all our adventures together. There, Will asked Julia to marry him.
