Whales, Weddings, and Wild Timing

August 1st, 2026

Will and Emily met during the winter of 2020, in the middle of a whirlwind of COVID lockdowns and post-college “what now?” panic. Their first connection was sparked by a bold comment Will left on a skydiving photo of Emily—an exchange that led to their first real adventure together when she took him skydiving the following year. Just seven days after their first conversation, Emily was helping Will set up a ping pong table…and met his mom. Fast forward five years, two pets, a house full of plants, and two mortgages later, that same ping pong table now lives in their garage. In November of 2024, Will proposed by a dead whale on an Alaskan beach where they had their 2nd date (minus the whale). Now, they’re excited to celebrate with friends and family from the Philippines to the East Coast—many of whom are visiting Alaska for the very first time. As two first-borns navigating family, busy lives, and a shared hunger for squeezing every drop of adventure from the world around them, Will and Emily are throwing a celebration that reflects everything they love most: fun, connection, and a whole lot of dancing. The Hemmen-Brockman wedding on August 1st will be one for the books—and they can’t wait to share it with you.
