Cheers to our new adventure together

The origins of our love story are unique to say the least. Some couples have a mutual friend, dating app, school or workplace to thank for first meeting one another, we have Zoom; the online video-conferencing tool that unwittingly became part of daily life for many across the world. In an online Zoom class during the Fall of 2020 we first became acquainted with one another. After a long several months of minimal connection with others, in retrospect, we were primed and ready for what was to come. On Zoom we messaged during class, edited the other’s paper and sneakily played phone games while our professor rambled on low volume in the background. Slowly but surely we made each other aware of our mutual existence. Shortly after the end of our last class together, almost within the hour, a text was sent asking the other out on a date. What else was supposed to happen in a world where physical contact was disallowed? Since then we have enjoyed a kind of care and compassion that’s transformed the way we do life. Wherever we go or whatever we do, having the other there makes it special. We enjoy the same things and thrive in our routine with one another. Our partnership has been to care first, forgive quickly, and build each other up. We say often that we are better and stronger people now than we were before. We look forward to married life and are eager to continue to be transformed and renewed in connection with one another.
