How We Fell in Love! 

Eleanor and I met in the summer of 2021 during a heated game of Secret Hitler. Across the room was a quiet, beautiful girl I’d never seen before, only knowing she went to Texas A&M. My college was three states away, so I assumed nothing could ever happen. Something in me nudged anyway; I had to find a reason to talk to her again in the future. So I got her phone number!

For six months we talked, texted, and flirted from 700 miles apart. Over Thanksgiving break our sophomore year, we made a pact: if we were both single after college, we’d go on a date. Patiently, I lasted 48 hours before asking her out, I couldn’t wait two more years of my life without her.

Over Christmas break, we squeezed in five dates in Waco, each of us driving nearly four hours round‑trip. By the end, we made it official and took on 2.5 years of long distance. It was never easy, but it was always worth it.

Now, 4.5 years later, I get to marry my best friend.
