A trip to Mariposa isn't complete without a stop in Yosemite National Park! Make sure you stop at the iconic "tunnel view" before you head into the valley for some hiking! Easy Walks: Lower Yosemite Falls (1 mi, flat) – Quick walk to a stunning waterfall. Bridalveil Fall (0.5 mi, 200 ft gain) – Short hike with misty views. Mirror Lake (2–5 mi, minimal gain) – Peaceful reflections of Half Dome. Moderate: Vernal Fall Footbridge (1.6 mi, 400 ft gain) – First section of the Mist Trail. Columbia Rock (3 mi, 1,000 ft gain) – Amazing valley overlook. Valley Loop Trail (Up to 11.5 mi, mostly flat) – Scenic valley walk. Difficult: Mist Trail to Nevada Fall (7 mi, 2,000 ft gain) – Iconic waterfall hike. Four-Mile Trail (9.6 mi, 3,200 ft gain) – Sweeping views from Glacier Point. Upper Yosemite Falls (7.6 mi, 2,700 ft gain) – Epic waterfall summit.
Mariposa is rich in gold rush history! The oldest Gold Mine is right outside of downtown. Check out the local shops and restaurants on the one main street that goes through Mariposa. There's great local art galleries, souvenirs, wine bars and breweries. Most shops open around 10 a..m.

Ken Yager founded this museum after many years of collecting Yosemite climbing history. Amanda volunteers here in her free time and Will and Amanda both have a lot of love for the museum and Yosemite climbing. $5 entry. Open 10am-4pm Tuesday-Sunday. Closed Mondays.
The Grove House is our favorite place to catch live music. See the shows and stay for the drinks and delicious food. Open 3pm-9pm Monday-Thursday and 3pm-10pm Friday-Saturday. Closed Sundays.

A great healthy marketplace with a cafe inside. This is a great place to stock up on sandwiches, salads, and snacks before heading to the park. Open 8am-7pm Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm Saturdays and 9am-5pm Sundays. The cafe inside closes at 3pm each day.
