Where do I park?

Answer

There is no parking at Poogan’s Courtyard. We ask that everyone ride share (Uber, Lyft, etc.) or walk from your hotel. There are also a few paid parking lots near the venue if you prefer to drive yourself. 14 Cumberland St Garage is a paid deck and Queen St is a paid lot that are a very short walking distance to the venue. Concord Cumberland is another paid garage that is within walking distance. The venue is a little tough to spot. It is down the street that is across from The Palmetto Hotel, so use that as a landmark. There is a photo of the outside on the Attire Gallery page.

What do I wear?

Answer

Feel free to dress stylishly, but no need to go full black tie! We're keeping things relaxed with a nod to low country style—think casual elegance with a little Southern charm. While we want you to be comfortable, please leave the jeans at home. Gents, khakis and a sports coat will do. Ladies, any length dress is fine, as long as it’s not white! And pro tip — the Charleston streets are known for being very wobbly, thin heels maybe not be the best option!

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Due to limited space at our venue, we ask that you only come with a date if the person was listed on your invite. If you have any questions about this, please reach out before the wedding. We hope you understand our desire to keep things small and intimate!

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Due to size restraints of the venue, attendance for the ceremony is limited. The ceremony starts at 4:20. You are able to enter the venue at 4:00. We ask that you are seated by 4:15 at the very latest to allow the ceremony to start on time. Please give yourself time to park and get to the venue. If you are only attending the cocktail hour and reception, we ask that you arrive at 5:00.

When do I need to RSVP by?

Answer

We kindly ask that you RSVP by September 15, 2025. This gives us ample time to relay a guest count to our vendors. You can RSVP by clicking the “RSVP” tab on our website and searching your name.

Are kids welcome at the wedding?

Answer

While we adore littles, we’ve decided to make our wedding a kid-free celebration, so we kindly ask that only adults attend the ceremony and reception.

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

We ask that you refrain from using your cellphone during the ceremony. We are hoping to create an intimate and meaningful atmosphere and whipping out a phone can ruin that ambiance.

Is the wedding outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will take place at the same venue, Poogans Courtyard. The ceremony will be held on their outdoor patio and the reception will be held indoors and outdoors, with dancing taking place outside and dinner taking place inside.

I RSVPd “yes”, but can’t come. What do I do?

Answer

We’re sad to hear you won’t be able to join us on our wedding day. As we are finalizing details, we kindly request that you let us know if your plans change at least 14 days before the wedding. This helps us manage our guest count and budget more accurately. Please contact us directly if you are unable to attend, as no-shows can impact both our guest list and budget. We truly appreciate your understanding and look forward to celebrating with you, whether in person or in spirit!
