FAQs

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

We kindly ask that you RSVP by October 10th.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please plan to arrive no earlier than 30 minutes before the ceremony start time and no later than 15 minutes prior to the start time to ensure you're seated by 5:30 PM. Again, traffic in New Orleans can be heavy so arrange ubers with plenty of time to arrive to Southern Oaks.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes, there is parking available at the wedding venue. However, if you plan to enjoy the open bar, we kindly encourage you to arrange safe transportation. Your safety means the world to us!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes, the dress code is formal. Men should wear suits, and women are encouraged to wear midi or floor-length dresses

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Please see our travel tab to see a variety of accommodation options! We do suggest staying in New Orleans so that you are able to experience all the city has to offer!

Question

Who can I bring?

Answer

We kindly ask that only those listed on the invitation attend. Except for a few children in our immediate family, this is an adults-only event. We appreciate your understanding in not bringing additional guests or children. If you have any questions feel free to contact us to check in on your guest count. We can't wait to celebrate!

Question

What is a New Orleans Style Reception?

Answer

New Orleans receptions are typically not seated dinners, but consist of heavy passed items at the start of the reception, open action stations and buffets, with emphasis on lots of food options, lots of beverages, and a highly dynamic and social atmosphere that allows guests to move freely about the reception space. Seating is left open for guests to choose their own seats and tables. The bride and groom have their first dance near the beginning of their reception, opening the dance floor immediately for the guests' enjoyment, and to take full advantage of the hired entertainment.
