Wedding Update

To our friends and family, We made the difficult decision to cancel our January wedding plans due to the pandemic. At this time, it doesn't seem likely that we would be able to celebrate with all of you as planned at our indoor venue. We want everyone to stay healthy and safe! We DID decide to move forward with getting married, however. We are now planning on a very small wedding with our immediate families in Vermont on September 19th. We hope to have a reception in a year or so, where we can celebrate with you all in person! (Hopefully at a time when parkas are not required!) Love, Kyle & Anna

How We Met

Love at first swipe?

Kyle and Anna met on a dating app. (So modern!) Kyle's attention was caught by Anna in a Cactus Halloween costume. Although he had no idea what she was, her personality shown through. Anna was drawn to the photo of Kyle standing proudly with his Dad after winning a water rocket contest at a museum where his primary competition were children under the age of 12. She appreciated that he didn't seem to take himself too seriously. Their first date was at an art show in the Mission in San Francisco, which led to dinner, and then a drink, and the rest is history.

The Engagement Story

January 19, 2020

It was a cold and windy day, but Kyle had planned on proposing on Sunday, January 19th for some time. Anna felt like something might be coming, as Kyle wasn't so insistent usually about plans, but refused to get her hopes up too much. As they climbed the steep incline, Anna complained to whole way up about being tired. When they reached the top, Kyle asked Anna if she wanted a break. She replied, "Nah, I'm good." They walked a little bit further and then Kyle feigned tiredness. He then stood uncomfortably waiting for some impossibly slow park rangers to leave while Anna blabbered on about something. All of a sudden, Kyle dropped down on one knee to search in his backpack for the ring. He pulled it out and Anna began crying and saying "yes" a lot, until he was finished with his proposal and then she said, "Sure!" Then they blissfully finished the final 5 miles of the hike.
