We attended the same high school and were friends for several years. No we were not high school sweethearts~. We reconnected in college and fell into our relationship very naturally, considering ourselves in a relationship before actually being a couple. Devon asked to make it official on August 26, 2016.

It started a month earlier, when Shelby took Devon to Disney for the weekend for his birthday. Talks of getting married had been discussed throughout the year. While at Epcot, Shelby found an engagement ring she loved on Devon's birthday. They did not have the right size and Devon ordered it later. The couple excitedly went to the Kennedy Space Center for the 50th Anniversary of the Moon landing. They had a wonderful day and as they were leaving, Devon popped the question. Not expecting the proposal, Shelby responded "okay." Devon was very proud of himself for surprising Shelby with the proposal since they had previously talked about it.
