Our story begins at Cal State LA, where I became close friends with Chris's sister. He was the nerdy brother who always seemed to be around. We'd Snapchat each other random things throughout the day, discovering we had more in common than we ever expected a love for anime (even if his devotion to Naruto remains questionable), video games, and endless conversations about everything and nothing. I'll never forget when Chris let me borrow Assassin's Creed 3. That single gesture sparked my obsession with the series, and to this day, I still buy every new release. It's funny how the smallest moments of kindness can create lasting memories. Seven years of friendship passed before everything changed. I was going through a difficult time, and Chris was there for me in ways I didn't know I needed. His kindness was genuine, expecting nothing in return just a friend showing up when it mattered most. Then came our first date in Pasadena. Chris had built up this legendary Apple Pie Burger from his favorite restaurant, painting it as a must-try culinary experience. When we arrived, we discovered it was only on the dinner menu, and we were there for lunch. We ended up with wings and fries instead, and while Chris was genuinely disappointed by his burger fail, I loved every moment. It was perfectly imperfect, just us, laughing through the chaos. As the weeks went by, our texts became longer, our conversations deeper. Then came the day at the river, where we said "I love you" for the first time. In that moment, everything clicked into place.
