We officially met way back in the day in 1st grade at Cataldo Catholic School. Where, by the 8th grade, had developed full blown, grade school crushes on each other. We're talking Jenni writing in her diary about Mark and Mark rigging his community service to be in Jenni's group kind of crushes. Those years included nights of calling each other for "homework" help, bashfully asking each other to slow dance at mixers and anxiously awaiting till the other logged onto AOL at night to chat over AIM. (Hello every 90's kid love story!) High school took us our separate ways, but not without one date sophomore year! The timing wasn't right for a teenage love story, but we can't help but laugh at that high school movie date... The REAL journey began with reconnecting in a bar in downtown Spokane 6 years ago. It was a random night out with friends, and we both found ourselves at The Monterey Cafe. Mark claims to have seen Jenni from across the room first where he says "I looked over and smiled but she looked away. Thought that was that." Jenni does not recall seeing Mark till he was about to walk out the door and, from across the bar, yelled out "Mark Wilkins are you not going to say hi to me?" We then ended up at the Satellite Diner till 4 am catching up over hash browns and bacon and THAT was that friends!
Maui. Thanksgiving Day. On the beach at sunset. It was as good as it gets!
