Ironically, JP sent me a message on FB when he saw a post I had posted on FB about a dear friend of mine who had passed. We exchanged a couple of replies back and forth on that initial FB message. He sent me another message and I didn't reply for two weeks within good reasons. Then I finally saw him at a hockey game while I was taking tickets and decided to reply to his FB message. And that's how we started chatting back and forth. Then he asked me for my number, and I jokingly told him I didn't have a phone number to share. He totally thought I was serious. We exchanged numbers and haven't stopped talking since.
We traveled to Granbury to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday due to change of plans. Ironically, I didn't realize JP was acting funny the whole afternoon of Thanksgiving day because he had something up his sleeve. Amber and I went to town to run a couple of errands then we were heading back to the house. When she decided we needed to stop by Brazos River and see what the boys were up to. I didn't even realize JP was standing there and talking to Robert about whatever they were chatting about. I started walking towards JP, gave him a big hug and he started rubbing my arms. He told me he loved me, was so grateful that I was apart of his and the boys lives. He got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him as his wife. And I of course said YES! The rest is history.
