Churchill Downs
Churchill Downs is known for the "The Greatest Two Minutes In Sports", The Kentucky Derby. You must shout "Go Baby Go" while your horse and jockey are rounding the last turn, it is an unspoken rule. Fall races are a great way to experience Churchill Downs in a more relaxed, less crowded environment. The link below provides takes you to the calendar for November 2025.
Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory
This is a historic baseball staple. Louisville Slugger bats are used in the MLB.
Revelry Boutique + Gallery
This is the perfect place to grab Louisville/Kentucky travel souvenirs. This shop has products from over 150 regional artists including jewelry, prints, paintings, candles, and more. It is located in the Nulu area, which is is home to many other shops and restaurants.
Big Four Bridge
This is a great spot for an afternoon walk, run, or for lounging on a blanket. It is located close to our downtown reception venue. If you are feeling ambitious, you can walk over to Jeffersonville, Indiana and enjoy the beautiful view of the Louisville skyline.
Cherokee Park
We have enjoyed countless walks with Lola in this park. It is a great spot for an afternoon walk or run.
Havana Rumba Bardstown Rd
We went here on our first date. Our favorites are the Fricase de Pollo, Steak Chimichurri, and the swirl margarita. This restaurant is located in the Highlands on Bardstown Road, a great neighborhood with lots of local restaurants and shops.
La Bodeguita De Mima Cuban Restaurant and Rum Bar
Another fabulous Cuban restaurant in the heart of downtown Louisville.
Chik'n & Mi
This restaurant located a little bit farther from the downtown area, but not by much. Order the Ramen, thank us later.
Pizza Lupo
This spot serves up delicious Neapolitan pizza made in a wood fired oven.
Angel's Envy Distillery
We went here for our second date. David was impressed by my ability to choose date activities.
Old Forester Distilling Co.
This is a staple distillery in downtown Louisville and one of David's favorite bourbons.
Gravely Brewing Co
This is one on our favorite spots to grab a beer. There is a fabulous deck that overlooks downtown, which is a perfect spot to enjoy a beer at sunset. Order the Channel Orange, if it is available.
