The Wedding Website of Wildes Ho and Wren Norwood
Mount Desert Island is made up of 4 towns, and they all have MANY charming B&B's and inns. There are a couple larger hotels as well. September is shoulder season for tourism, but rates can still be high as fall is still a popular time to visit. The most economical way is to get an Airbnb with a group, if possible! Please reach out to us if you have questions about this. Below are just a few of the many options that we recommend, as well as airport information. SHUTTLE NOTE: There will be a shuttle option with 45 available seats to and from the wedding venue from a pickup location in downtown Bar Harbor. If you are staying in Bar Harbor, and want to take advantage of the shuttle, please indicate so on your RSVP, or text us. If you are not staying in Bar Harbor, you will be responsible for transportation to and from the venue. Taxi's are available on the island but must be arranged ahead of time. Links to reputable taxi companies are at the bottom of this page.

Hotel

Kimball Terrace Inn Northeast Harbor

10 Huntington Road, Northeast Harbor, ME
 2072763383

Probably our top recommendation for reasonably priced rooms! This hotel is located in the quieter, charming town of Northeast Harbor. It is walking distance to the brunch location, a 20 minute drive to the welcome dinner, and a 20 minute drive from the wedding location.

Hotel

The Pathmaker Hotel

77 Cottage Street, Bar Harbor, ME

This is a new hotel in downtown Bar Harbor. Bar Harbor is the busiest town on the island, and is about a 15 minute drive from the brunch and welcome dinner location, and a 15-20 minute drive from the wedding location.

Hotel

Central House

60 Cottage Street, Bar Harbor, ME

A historical inn located in Bar Harbor, Central House offers competitive rates. Bar Harbor is a 15 minute drive from the brunch and welcome dinner location, and a 15-20 minute drive from the wedding location.

Flight

Bangor International Airport

Bangor Airport is about 1 hour and 20 minutes from the island. In many ways, this will be the best and easiest option in the long run. Rental cars can be reserved for pick up at the airport. It is a smaller airport, and has many direct flights from New York, Philly, DC, etc. However, there are no direct flights from most West Coast cities.

Flight

Bar Harbor Airport

The closest airport to us, about a 30 minute drive to any of the towns on the island. However, you can only get to Bar Harbor Airport through a Cape Air flight from Boston. Reach out if you have questions about this. Rental cars are available at Bar Harbor airport.

Flight

Boston Logan Airport

Boston Logan will have more options for direct flights, especially from farther away. From Boston, you can book a 45 minute Cape Air flight directly to Bar Harbor! The planes are tiny, so maybe don't do this if you're scared of flying...but it is an incredibly scenic flight and will get you there the fastest. Bar Harbor airport is located at the head of the island, and you can rent a car there as well.
