Chris and Tamara met and worked at the Fitz Casino & Hotel in Tunica for 10 1/2 years together. She left the casino in 2017 to focus on her career as an educator. Both were invited to a surprise birthday party for Johnny Robinson in 2019. Excied that Tamara was gonna be at party, Chris felt for years that she wouldn't be intersted in him and never had the nerve to approach her for a date. Well, after seeing her at the party, he decided to go for it! (She made him wait til June to finally go out.) Sparks flew and dating went smoothly, but not like any other dating they were used to. There was truly something special there! A simple conversation with his son, Braxton, sent him into the next gear. He said "Dad, if you love her, why wait?" Chris took Braxton to the jeweler and had him try the ring on with hopes that Tika's finger was the same size. He then planned his bucket list trip to Snowmass in Aspen, CO, for Thanksgiving. Of course, Tamara and Isaiah were packed and ready to see what Aspen was all about, but had no idea what was in store. Chris was so nervous at the airport that he left his backpack that had the ring at the ticket counter and raced frantically to go retrieve it. He then began to sweat bullets, hoping his proposal surprise wouldn't be blown during security check. Luckily, he was safe. They arrived in Aspen only for none of Chris's surprise plans to work. His last straw was hiding it in Isaiah's peanut butter crackers. Well, Tamara didn't see the ring, him behind her on one knee, or Braxton trying to record the moment. Finally he grabs the ring from the cracker box, walks over to her with "The Wheels on The Bus" playing loudly, wearing his Snowmass robe & Ninja Turtle pajama pants, and drops down on a knee with the ring box open. His proposal speech including his desires to share the world with her, be an additional positive influence in Isaiah's life, and he'd already received her parents blessings. The rest is history!
