Wil and Bridget met for a few beers on a Monday night at JM Curley in downtown Boston. "It all started with a beer."

Wil recruited Bridget's mom, Kathy, and cousin, Kate, to trick Bridget into being in just the right place at the right time for his beach proposal. First, he had Kate make fake weekend plans with Bridget with the intention to cancel last minute. Within the hour of Kate cancelling, Kathy called to ask Bridget a favor. Kathy asked if she could go down to their beach house in Marshfield on Saturday to meet a roofer (who didn't exist) to look at a leak they were having. When Wil and Bridget arrived at the house Bridget's mom called to say the contractor was going to be late. Bridget quickly decided to take a walk along the beach with Wil while they waited. During the walk, Wil trailed behind Bridget and said "look at this piece of sea glass!" When Bridget turned around, Wil was on one knee with a piece of sea glass that said "Will you marry me?" on it. Wil even had an undercover photographer in place to capture the whole thing! It was perfect.
