The Acadiana region is home to the Cajun people and is full of culture! Cajuns are descendants of Roman Catholic French Canadians whom the British, in the 18th century, drove from the captured French colony of Acadia (now Nova Scotia and adjacent areas) and who settled in the fertile bayou lands of southern Louisiana.

Avery Island is a salt dome best known as the source of Tabasco sauce. Tour the factory that makes the famous Tabasco hot sauce, eat at the amazing restaurant, and walk through Jungle Gardens. Fun fact: Jack Daniels sends their whiskey barrels to the Tabasco factory to be used during production.
