Alex and I met through mutual friends in March 2020 — right at the start of COVID, when life felt uncertain for all of us. It seemed as if one day we were strangers, and the next, we had known each other for what felt like forever. Now here we are, almost six years later, ready to take the next steps in this thing we all call life. From day one, Alex’s sense of humor and contagious laugh stood out to me. He could — and still can — light up any room the very moment he steps into it. It did not take long for me to realize that I couldn’t imagine a day without hearing that laughter. Somehow, I ended up being the one to ask him if we could make our relationship official, after a couple of months of “dating” — if you can call hanging out in our friends’ garages, playing poker, and sitting around bonfires dating. Navigating the pandemic — and what some might say should have been social distancing — allowed us to skip the typical first dates and sometimes awkward “getting to know you” stage. For us, what started as a simple introduction quickly turned into something greater than we could have ever imagined. This day has been a long time coming as we have spent the last 6 years already starting our life together. And after all this time, I know some of you were wondering if I’d have to continue to be the one to ask the big questions… but he finally asked me!! And now here we are, planning the biggest and best day ever. We cannot wait to celebrate our love with all of you — and for the rest of our lives.
