The historic district features many buildings from the early 20th century and views of Lake Dora. James and Jessica frequent downtown with their dog Winston for coffee at Serendipity Brews and Pizza at Back Porch Pizza Bar.

The lighthouse sits on Grantham Point adjacent to Gilbert Park and Simpson's Cove, a short walk from downtown Mount Dora. To the left there is a boardwalk and walking trails with fantastic views of Lake Dora.
