The Wedding Website of Lauren Wiegand Peñaloza and Daniel Peñaloza Encarnación
Question

Give me the details again, please?

Answer

We'll be celebrating both the ceremony and reception outside at the Hacienda San Juan Opichen. The address is: Calle 81 Diagonal SN Entre 138A y 136, Hacienda Opichen, 97249 Mérida. Bring what you need for the evening because the party ain't stopping! We'll be at the Hacienda from 5pm- 1:30am.

Question

What do I wear?

Answer

Cocktail attire please :)

Question

How are we getting back post-wedding?

Answer

There will be a shuttle running from our venue to the main hotels (NH Collection and Villa Mercedes) starting at 9:30 pm and going until 1:30 am. Ubers are also affordable and accessible if you don't want to wait on a shuttle.

Question

What's the food situation?

Answer

We will be serving a range of food options (traditional Mexican and American-friendly). However, please do let us know if you have any allergies or dietary restrictions when you RSVP - we'll alert our caterer to make sure there is something yummy for you.

Question

Can we take pictures of you when you say "I Do?"

Answer

We're all in it for the 'gram, but we're hoping you can put your phone away for the 30 minutes we're getting married. Other than that, snap, post and record away - just make sure you're using our hashtag, #MilanToMerida. And we promise to share the ceremony pics once those are ready.

Question

Other things about Mexico we should know?

Answer

Nothing major. You need your passport! Routine shots are recommended - but no vaccinations are required to enter Mexico. The currency is the Mexican Peso which you can exchange USD for at the airport or just use an airport ATM with your debit card (our preferred method). Plugs are the same in Mexico as they are in the US - no converters are needed for any of your US electronics.

Question

How do I get around in Mérida?

Answer

Ubers in Mexico are a safe and affordable option. You can use the same app as in the US, so it's easy to use and you don't need to direct the driver to your destination. The recommended hotels are also within walking distance of the main tourist sites.

Question

I don't know Spanish. Help?

Answer

It's going to be ok, we promise. The bride is woefully unprepared as well. The hotels we picked have lots of English speaking staff and we have recommended some touristy places where lack of Spanish skills won't be an issue. But you should study up anyway! We love Duolingo and watching Friends with Spanish subtitles.

Question

What about Lauren... Has SHE Learned Spanish Yet?

Answer

SHE'S WORKING ON IT!!!!

Question
