We're getting married!

Morgan and Rob were complete strangers before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Luckily, they matched on Coffee Meets Bagel when Chicago began shelter in place and were able to get to know each other before meeting in person. Morgan was spending time with her family in Cleveland, Ohio and Rob was in St. Louis, Missouri spending time with his family. They texted daily and had video chat dates while they were apart. In May 2020, they finally met when both home for a weekend in Chicago and immediately knew their connection was real. Once they were back in Chicago long-term, they spent nearly every day together. With a pandemic going on, the only thing they really could do together was just be together. Once Chicago began opening back up, they were able to go on actual dates and find more things they enjoyed doing together. After months of board games, trips to the zoo, and tennis "games," their love was stronger than ever.

For a girl that hates surprises, the engagement was a surprise for Morgan. She woke up in the morning thinking she would get engaged, but had no idea the amount of thought, care, and love Rob put into the day. One of Morgan's best friends, Kate, took her to get her nails done under the guise of a buy one-get one nail service to support local businesses during COVID. They were then supposed to go to a nearby hotel for a bite to eat, but there was still time until the reservation, so they went for an adventure. Morgan and Kate arrived at the Caldwell Lily Pool in Lincoln Park, Chicago and there was Rob, standing near the pond looking especially nervous. Eventually he went down on one knee and asked Morgan to marry him. (Honestly, the details are a little fuzzy because they were both so nervous and excited!). Later that night, Morgan was having a get together for her belated birthday. Unbeknownst to her, Rob had arranged for another one of Morgan's best friends, Grace, to come to Chicago that night to celebrate! After dinner, the dinner crowd went to a nearby bar where so many of our friends were there to celebrate us. Our friends and family that could not make it recorded video messages for us to view, which really made the day all the more special. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with our loved ones. Can't wait to see you in Cleveland! xoxo Morgan and Rob
