Her story: After asking him out over FB we set a date to go out on Friday. On my way to Dobbs Ferry in SF I get a text from him "We will be in the back at the bar"..... I think to myself who is "we?" I get there and was pleased to see a tall good looking guy and conversation was easy so we're off to a good start... then, a few minutes in, every waitress in the bar stops by and talks to Luke so I think maybe this is the "we" he was talking about. Wrong. He then tells me "I hope it's ok I invited my brother, one of my best friends from Wyoming, and 3 work colleagues." You can imagine my surprise when I find out my first date is actually with 3 waitresses and 6 dudes. Needless to say, tequila became my best friend, I split a burger with his best friend, and I ferociously texted my friends to save me (Thanks, Bree!). He then tells me "Hey, I will hit you up later if we want to meet up"...... LOL. Uh OK.... If you want to meet up I will be at Jaxson. So there I am getting my country dance on with my girlfriend and in he walks with his entourage. To my surprise, this odd first date with a lot of people actually turned in to the best night ever! We danced the night away with all our friends and there's even a first kiss picture floating around in front of the famous Jaxson fan (classy, I know). He must've thought it was safe to go out with me again since he took me to breakfast the following Monday all by himself <3 His story: Recruited her to come grab a happy hour drink with "me." Also had some of the crew in the bar for back up. Never know who you are going to actually meet out in San Francisco. Took her to a spot that I knew all the bartenders and workers just to see if she could handle the pressure. She walked in and immediately fit the part. Stood her ground, bought rounds, and helped burn it down!
Her story: He tells me he bought me a massage at Wine & Roses because I've been stressed at work. I get to the check-in desk & they say I'm here for my couples massage..."no there's been a mix up & he booked it but it's just me getting a massage." I go to the plunge pools to wait & in walks two masseuses, calling for me & him (I should add that all the couples enjoying their romantic afternoon are staring). I tell them I spoke to the front desk & it's just me & to please make sure to only charge us for one. The two looked more confused than me but they say ok & bring me to a giant couples suite that they told me I could just enjoy by myself *eyeroll* "GREAT THANKS!" I get in position & halfway through my massage I have the sheets all tucked up like a sumo wrestler & the door swings open so I panic thinking "who the heck is walking in!" & he says "HEY BABY THOUGHT I'D JOIN YA!" I'm still confused but happy he's there. We go to leave & the check-in desk says our room is ready. "We are staying over night!?" YAY! He then takes me to a nice dinner & we come back & the room is pitch black. I ask him to turn the lights on & he says no so I start to get a bit agitated confused as to why he won't turn on the lights so I let the fire he lit guide me to a seat. He says "What is that!?" I turn around & there's a light on the balcony & I continue outside to see a ring box lit up & him on one knee :) His story: She loves wine & she loves roses, why not take her to Wine & Roses? Surprised her with a massage & a spa day. Only problem was spa staff ruined the surprise of staying at the resort. Got her to the room & played it off as if I was treating her to a special night before our season started. We had a great dinner & then she suggested a bottle of Champagne....I thought to myself perfect (since I did not have a chance to pick one up). Got the bubbly, turned the lights off, turned the fire place on, opened the balcony to the Wine & Roses courtyard & got down on one knee!
We say "I do."
