We first met in 2019 while attending SWOSU, introduced through mutual friends. Our first official hangout was during spring break back home in Dallas, Texas. I invited Jacob out with my friend Lauren and I, and—without hesitation—he Ubered to meet us at Stir. The next night, the tables turned and we joined him and his friends, a few of whom you’ll see standing by his side as groomsmen. To this day, we each tell our own version of how those first nights went! After spring break, we kept spending time together back at school, and somewhere toward the end of April 2019, we became official… though we’ve never quite agreed on the exact date! Since then, we’ve graduated college and launched our careers together in Dallas, TX where we now live with our three dogs: Wayne, Lorrie, and Sister. Fast forward to September 2024—we were invited to what I thought was a baby shower at the Dallas Arboretum for our friends, Matt and Taylor. If it had been anyone else, I might’ve been suspicious… but Jacob pulled it off perfectly. That “baby shower” turned out to be a set up for our engagement, with a hidden photographer! It was the most perfect moment—followed by a surprise celebration at one of our favorite spots, St. Pete’s Dancing Marlin in Deep Ellum, surrounded by people we love.
