It all starts at 219 S. Fairmount Street- an older home in Friendship, a neighborhood in Pittsburgh, that had been broken up into 5 apartments. Alaina had been living there for about 2 years at that time when Brian moved in across the hall. From the first time Alaina saw Brian she thought he was cute (and it didn't hurt that he had an adorable dog), but was never quite sure how to introduce herself. Turns out, Brian thought Alaina was pretty cute too (and surely her adorable cat didn't hurt either), but found himself in the same predicament. Though they'd exchanged quick "hellos" and "how are yous" while passing each other in the shared hallway, how exactly do you politely ask out your neighbor? Well, you match on a dating app. And then you go to dinner at a fancy Italian place on a snowy night in February 2019. And then to the zoo two days later. And then to an all-you-can-eat sushi buffet a week later where, let's face it, you really get to know a person at an all-you-can-eat sushi buffet. Fast forward to 2020: Alaina and Brian had successfully graduated from neighbors to sharing a home together in Pittsburgh where they both lovingly dote on the aforementioned dog and cat, have a backyard garden that grows an abundance of tomatoes and cucumbers, and somehow, even after that fateful all-you-can-eat sushi buffet, they still enjoy eating sushi together. And in March 2022, while on a weekend trip to the Finger Lakes region of New York, Brian proposed and Alaina said "yes." We're so excited to be officially married in our dream wedding location of Hawaii in 2023. And we know what you're wondering: will there be all-you-can-eat sushi at the wedding? No. And that's probably for the best.
