We met on the very first day of college. It was a beautiful sunny day, with a parade flooding the campus walk ways. Instead of joining in on that traditional yearly celebration, both Jordan and Leah (in separate groups) decided to explore the iconic Franklin Street on the campus of UNC Chapel Hill. We were each with our best friends who just so happened to meet each other during orientation, a week prior. The interaction was brief but insanely memorable. Leah made such an impact on Jordan that he referred to her as the 'girl in the purple shirt' for weeks before officially hanging out for the first time. Freshman year went by and our friend groups became intertwined, or maybe we should say "inseparable". At some point during Sophomore year, we realized that we were destined to be much more than just best friends, we were destined to be partners for life..... and the romance began. <3
In the summer of 2018, we renovated a travel traveler, "quit" our jobs, and set off on a journey around the country for a 3-month adventure of a lifetime. The trip was planned to be unplanned. But little did Leah know, Jordan had days 1 and 2 planned out to a T. On day 2 (July 1, 2018), we arrived in Virginia Beach. Our campsite was located right on the beach, with a private dune and beach access. We spent the day swimming in the ocean and enjoying the gorgeous city. When the evening rolled around, Jordan announced that he had ONE more surprise planned. He had picked out a stunning outfit (with the help of his mom and sister), dressed me up and spoiled me with a delicious surprise dinner at Solecia Prime on the Virginia Beach boardwalk. Everything was perfect. As the sun set over the ocean, Jordan got down on one knee and popped the magic question. Without hesitation, I yelled "YES"! That romantic night was the beginning of our forever together.
