We Met

2014

In early fall 2014, Whitney and her friend Cat, had made plans to go to dinner. Their frequently visited Chinese restaurant was of course their first choice. During dinner, Cat had mentioned how she wanted Whitney to meet her boyfriend. After dinner, Cat had convinced Whitney to go meet him. The girls went to Buffalo Wild Wings where Cat’s boyfriend, Corry, and Tim were watching a game. They all sat and talked through the entire game and through the evening. As days went on, Cat had invited Whitney to other outings with Corry and Tim which included dinners, game nights, and karaoke bars. Very quickly Whitney and Tim became good friends. As the friendship progressed, Whitney and Tim shared a love for all things movies, video games, and St. Louis sports. Tim and Whitney began making their own adventures. But on that day, the first day they met, Whitney knew Tim would be the one she loved forever, and Tim knew she was well worth the wait.

The Proposal

April 8, 2017

Every year, Tim and Whitney has made it a priority to go to as many Cardinals games as possible. Tim never really got to explore the city the way Whitney had. So every trip, they managed to find something new for Tim to experience. Whitney’s favorite baseball player, Yadier Molina, had a bobblehead during one of the games at the beginning of the 2017 season. Of course, Whitney had to go. She had to have that bobblehead. Tim and Whitney spent the previous evening in St Louis so they could get ready for the game the next day. That morning seemed like any other morning, they got ready for the game, left early, made a game plan to get in fast. Tim, Whitney, and her dad and step mom were all excited for the game. While walking downtown, Tim wanted to stop next to the stadium before going in. Tim never wanted to stop before going in. In the street between BallPark Village and Busch Stadium, the four of them stood there people watching while Tim and Randy finished their beer. Whitney was soaking in the atmosphere that was Cardinals. Tim said Whitney’s name, and as she turned around, Tim got down on one knee, and asked her to marry him. It took quite a few moments for Whitney to gather herself to say yes. At that moment, neither Tim nor Whitney realized all of the people around them watching. That day was one of the greatest days of their lives. The St Louis Cardinals brought them closer as friends, and it was the place they got to start a new chapter of their lives, engagement.
