While exploring Mexico City as a possible city to live in, Whitney asked her best friend where she should get a long-desired tattoo. She found a wonderful tattoo studio online and chose the exact artist she wanted to work with based on his art and made an appointment to have the tattoo a few weeks later. Whitney arrived at the appointment, after having discussed with the artist only via text to discover that in fact he was incredibly handsome, attentive to detail and painfully shy. They both felt an undeniable attraction over the hour that the tattoo appointment lasted and Whitney left to tell her friend, "I love my tattoo but the only thing I can think about the man who just gave me the tattoo! And, I know I am going to have to ask him out; He's shy!"

Mientras analizaba la posibilidad de quedarse a vivir en la Ciudad de México, Whitney le preguntó a su mejor amiga dónde podía hacerse un tatuaje que estaba anhelando. Buscó en internet y encontró un maravilloso estudio. Viendo su trabajo, ahí eligió al artista con el que quería trabajar y concertó una cita para hacerse el tatuaje unas semanas después. Whitney llegó a la cita, después de haber hablado con el artista solo vía texto para descubrir que en realidad era increíblemente guapo, atento a los detalles y muy tímido. Ambos sintieron una atracción innegable durante la hora que duró la cita del tatuaje. De ahí, Whitney se reunió su amiga y lo primero que le platicó fue: "¡Amo mi tatuaje, pero lo único en lo que no puedo dejar de pensar, es en el hombre que me acaba de tatuar! Voy a tener que invitarlo a salir yo porque él es tímido!"

Whitney and Said later agreed to meet for coffee and the rest is history. The pair has had a blast falling in love: they are enjoying small renovating projects in their apartment in Mexico City, motorcycle rides to explore new areas, runs in Chapultepec Park, adventures with their dog Ava and building their businesses as artist and online entrepreneur. They feel so lucky to have found one another. It was definitely worth the wait. Said proposed to Whitney on the last day of 2020, to which she said, "of course, yes yes yes!". They celebrated with amazing seafood at the beach in Puerto Escondido, Mexico.

Más adelante, Whitney y Said acordaron tomarse un café y el resto es historia. Juntos han pasado un increíble tiempo conociéndose y enamorándose el uno del otro: están disfrutando de pequeños proyectos de renovación en su departamento en la Ciudad de México, paseos en moto para conocer nuevos lugares, paseos corriendo en Chapultepec, aventuras con su perrita Ava y formando y haciendo crecer sus negocios como artista y emprendedora en línea. Ambos se sienten muy afortunados de haberse encontrado el uno con el otro. Definitivamente valió la pena la espera!! Said le propuso matrimonio a Whitney el último día de 2020, a lo que ella respondió: "¡Por supuesto que si, sí, sí, sí!". Lo celebraron con mariscos increíbles en la playa de Puerto Escondido, México.

Whitney Lynn Tucker was born and raised in Illinois. She studied dance and education and lived in New York City for 15 years, dancing professionally and eventually building a business as a coach, trainer, and online entrepreneur. She is the second one of four siblings. A traveller and adventurer, she decided to move to Mexico during the pandemic with her beloved dog, Ava. She is so glad she did and is thrilled about the journey ahead with her husband-to-be, Said.

Said Vázquez Gil was born in the State of Mexico and left home in search of his own path. He studied Krav Maga and eventually became an instructor at the Secretary of the Navy. He lived for some time in Tamaulipas, Mexico while learning Japanese martial arts. Later, he had his first encounter with his next serious passion; Tattoes. Now, he's a tattoo artist. Luckily, for tattoos, he met his bride-to-be, Whitney.

Said Vázquez Gil nació en el Estado de México y se fue de casa en busca de su propio destino. Estudió Krav Maga y se convirtió en instructor en la Secretaría de Marina. Vivió por algún tiempo en Tamaulipas, México mientras aprendía artes marciales japonesas. Con el paso del tiempo, tuvo su primer encuentro con su pasión; Tatuajes. Ahora es un artista tatuador. Fue así y ahí , donde conoció a su futura esposa, Whitney.
