Whitney and Ryan both attended college at the University of Southern Mississippi, however they attended at different times and had never met before October of 2018. During her time at USM, Whitney was a member of The Dixie Darlings dance team. Each year at homecoming, all of the alumni Dixie Darlings come back and dance at halftime of the USM football game. Well, in 2018 Whitney decided to go back and dance at her first game as an alum. Before kickoff, she met up with her childhood friend Zack to tailgate. As it turns out, Zack and Ryan went to the same CrossFit gym and were tailgating together that day. To sum up the rest of the night, Ryan asked Zack about Whitney and the rest is history! From that moment on, countless memories have been made and they can't wait to celebrate their marriage on June 12, 2021!

Ryan proposed to Whitney on August 15, 2020... in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic! Ryan and Whitney had decided to visit the pool at the Ace Hotel. Little did Whitney know, Ryan had hired one of her good friends, Maggie to photograph their proposal later that evening. While they were at the pool, Ryan received a phone call from Maggie saying she had COVID and wasn't going to be able to take the pictures. Luckily, Maggie knew who to call for back up. One of Whitney's bridesmaids, Caroline, was able to come to the hotel, set up, and take the pictures! Ryan and Whitney finished up at the pool and got ready for dinner. Before dinner, he told her to come see something out on the balcony. Whitney thought someone was just being silly outside, after all it is New Orleans! To her surprise, she walked out to see Ryan down on one knee with the most beautiful ring, and one of her best friends there capturing each moment as she said yes! It is truly a day they will cherish forever.
