After about a month and half of just hanging out in groups, Nick finally worked up the courage to ask me on a date! We had both already established that we were very interested in each other and that we were looking forward to see if it was going to go further. He picked me up and took my to my favorite restaurant (Bonsai) and then took me down to the river walk here in San Angelo where he asked if I wanted to make things official! This was the start of a long journey that the Lord has brought us on and to top it off, some of our best friends Mason and Rachel, unbeknownst to us, started dating that day too!
Whitney had been gone to Asia for nearly 2 months during the summer of 2018 and had finally returned on July 18th! We were both so excited that she was home, but I was specifically excited because I knew was was happening just a week later! I had convinced Whitney that July 27th was just a "welcome back" date and to further this plot I even i took her to get her ring finger sized because i had "forgot" what size she was! After dinner at Peasant Village, Whitney and I went down to the river walk once again, and after a wonderful conversation I got down on one knee and she agreed to be my wife! Afterwards, we went back to her house, where all of our family and friends, even those from all the way in Mississippi, joined us in celebration of what the Lord had done in our lives! It was a wonderful day and I am forever thankful for all the people who loved us and helped me pull of all the surprises that day! To top it off, we were able to spend that weekend in San Antonio with both of our families further celebrating everything that had happened!
